Our relationship is anything but ordinary! After Zac relentlessly chased me for a year (with some definite flirting exchanged), we started dating. It was nothing short of a whirlwind romance and, one night, after the most beautiful dinner and evening under the stars, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Through the tears, I couldn’t get, “Yes” out fast enough!

Tracy and I met in the summer of 2011. By 2012, I had fallen deeply in love. She was my soulmate, best friend, the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and the one I wished I could marry. Unfortunately, we were unable to be legally wed. But, it didn’t stop us from discussing the possibilities of “one day, maybe.”

Kellen and I were engaged in the same spot where we first met four and a half years earlier at our alma mater. And let me tell you, he knocked the proposal out of the park! He sent me around campus to our most cherished places with notes containing the sweetest words about our past, present, and future. He even strung up twinkle lights in the dead of winter. Kellen would tell you he forgot what to say when he get got down on one knee, but I couldn’t tell. My eyes were filled with happy tears, and I could barely get out the word, “Yes.” Nearly two years later, we married in my hometown of Onalaska.

Our wedding was not what I had pictured. Instead, it was beyond anything I could have imagined. Since it was in early May, we lucked out with a beautiful 70-degree spring day. Everything was green from the previous night’s rain and flowers and trees were in full bloom. Spring is my favorite season, because just like a marriage, it resembles the start of something new and the regrowth of things old. Adam and I were embarking on a new journey, one that would expand upon our 12-year relationship that began as high school sweethearts.

My big day started with pampering. The most important women in my life and I enjoyed getting our hair done, makeovers, yummy breakfast, and of course, mimosas! Zach and the groomsmen spent the morning hanging out and taking a crash YouTube course on folding pocket squares. Having a mid-afternoon ceremony allowed us stress-free time to prepare ourselves for our “I do.”

“I’m going to marry that girl!” exclaimed my now husband even before we dated. After living in the same dorm building in college and growing a wonderful friendship for a year, Jake asked me out. Four years later, the man of my dreams got down on one knee and proposed on a rainy April day—my birthday. It could not have been more beautiful!

When I met Jake at Sloopy’s bar during a Badger football game, it wasn’t love at first sight. He thought I was stuck-up; I thought he was arrogant. When one of my girlfriends started dating one of his friends, our run-ins became more frequent. Many weeks later, after some liquid courage and our usual banter, Jake kissed me. (Ask Jake, and he will say I kissed him.) Our distaste for one other had suddenly turned into love!
