Jacob and I are the product of a successful eHarmony match. We joined within two weeks of one another and were in each other’s first set of matches. On New Year’s Day 2012, I received my first communication from Jacob. We had lunch three weeks later at Fayze’s, and the rest is history.
Mike and I met in June 2010 while working as teachers in Milwaukee. After spending a few months going to baseball games, restaurants, and barbeques, Mike invited me over for a homemade dinner in his downtown apartment. Our friendship blossomed into an everlasting love.
Our wedding was one of the most special events of our lives, because we spent it with the people we love. Our wedding and reception were held at The Days Inn, and the staff did a fantastic job getting everything prepared and ready so it was magical.
Planning and organizing are far from my strong suits, so after Jason proposed, and I said, “Yes,” I was lost and had no idea how to begin preparing for our wedding. All I knew was that we wanted a summer wedding and wanted to incorporate our love of the Mississippi River.
“What do you do for a living?” I asked the handsome man I’d met on a cruise ship in Alaska. “I’m a farmer,” he replied, with a sexy, Minnesota accent. I laughed, appropriately, at his joke and asked him again about his profession. He replied that he was a farmer. I had a hard time believing this.
When Rich and I met, we instantly had a connection, and given our competitive-sport backgrounds, we decided to challenge one another to a foot race. We’re still debating who won, but really, we both did, because five years later, Rich proposed at Riverside Park.

By Theresa Washburn
The cameras flash and the poses come naturally, the couple gazing into each other’s eyes, their faces filled with smiles and laughter. It’s a day to remember each tender look, each joyful moment, all captured with confidence by an expert photographer who snaps images to tell a story of union and love. So why skimp on the important opportunity to encapsulate all the special moments of the day? With modern photo and video capabilities it’s surprising how many people consider letting their good friend or relative take charge of recording history with a camera. But there are good reasons to think twice about skipping the professional and putting an amateur on the scene.
