“I’m going to marry that girl!” exclaimed my now husband even before we dated. After living in the same dorm building in college and growing a wonderful friendship for a year, Jake asked me out. Four years later, the man of my dreams got down on one knee and proposed on a rainy April day—my birthday. It could not have been more beautiful!
As the wedding drew near, we prayed for a beautiful and glorious day. It was all that and more! I woke to pure sunshine, peacefully got out of bed, poured a cup of coffee, and rested in the moment. I was getting married! It was almost incomprehensible. Marriage is a beautiful commitment. But it is also work and takes an enormous amount of effort (so I hear, that is). And more importantly, marriage is forever. All I could think about is what a privilege our wedding was.
Our day was full of joy. The first look was captured incredibly well by our photographers. Between getting ready with my girls, taking those exciting steps to see my groom for the first time, and almost forgetting my bouquet before walking down the aisle, I knew the day was perfect for us. As family and friends poured in for the ceremony, I was escorted down the aisle by my beloved parents and into my handsome husband-to-be’s arms. The evening was filled with loving words, laughter, and of course, dancing. Our family and friends poured out so much love for us that Jake and I felt so blessed. Between our loved ones, the beauty at the Mayowood Stone Barn, the special moments captured by our photographer, Scott Bacon, and the décor and flowers, the day was a dream come true!
When I look through our photos, I feel as if I’m watching a story and experiencing the joys once again. I am so beyond thankful for our wedding day. We are excited to see where this beautiful marriage takes us. TWM
